Desert landscape. I imagined it still, silent, empty.
I keep returning to the same places. Noticing how the wind lingers on the dunes. How rain gathers in the hollows of stone. How familiar paths disappear and return altered. How the landscape I thought I knew refuses to remain the same.
Again and again, I return looking for something familiar. An old tree. A mountain. A trace of what was once there. I begin to recognize places not by what they are, but by what has remained.
I came expecting sand and found time.
